Podcast: Everything’s Going to Change
In this kickoff to your Pre-Confirmation journey, Mr. Haines challenges sixth and seventh graders to move beyond memorizing facts about the Catholic faith, and get ready to dig a little deeper into the treasures of what they've been taught about Catholicism so far.
About the Episode Artwork:
This artwork is "Pentecost" by Juan Bautista Maíno, painted around 1620. It depicts the biblical event of Pentecost, described in the book of Acts (Acts 2:1–4), where the Holy Spirit descends upon the Virgin Mary and the Apostles in the form of tongues of fire, symbolized here by the red flames descending from the dove, which represents the Holy Spirit. Mary and the Apostles were in a room, praying (preparing) and waiting for the Holy Spirit, which Jesus had promised to them. As you begin grade six or grade seven, you are also in a period of waiting and preparing for the Holy Spirit to descend upon you at your Confirmation, which will happen in eighth grade.
